## Replies that stall now recover on their own

Released October 19, 2026 · Improved · Agent, Models

If a model's reply stops partway, WebDIY retries once inside the same message and shows a note. When a model declines or a provider rejects a request, the chat says so plainly.

Sometimes a model stops sending its reply partway through, with no error. Before, the message ended there and you had to send it again.

Now WebDIY notices the stall and retries once, inside the same message. A small note in the chat shows that it retried.

Two other endings are clearer too:

- When a model declines a request, the chat says the model declined it.
- When a provider rejects a request, the chat says the provider refused it, instead of showing a general error.

## Fixes for attachments and preview links

Released October 19, 2026 · Fixed · Agent, Preview

Large files import into projects reliably, each model gets attachments in a form it can read, and preview links renew before they expire.

- Files over 4 MB import into your project reliably.
- Text files reach every model as text.
- PDFs go only to models that can read them.
- Preview links renew before they expire, so an open preview keeps working.
- Renaming a project's address moves an open builder to the new address.

## Stopped messages are charged for the work they did

Released October 19, 2026 · Fixed · Billing, Agent

When you press Stop, the steps the model already ran now count toward the message's credits.

A message runs as a series of steps. Before this fix, a step cut short by Stop wasn't counted, so a stopped message could show fewer credits than the work it did.

Now every step the model ran is counted, including one cut short. Turn details shows the full amount. Messages that finish on their own are charged as before.

## A calmer preview while your app starts or updates

Released October 17, 2026 · New · Preview

Instead of a blank frame, the Preview shows the last picture of your app, dimmed, with a progress line and one status line. A dot on the Preview tab shows what your app is doing.

Your app runs on its own computer, which pauses when nobody uses it and starts again when you come back. While it started or updated, the Preview used to show an empty frame.

Now the Preview shows:

- the last picture of your app, dimmed and blurred;
- a thin progress line at the top;
- one status line, such as "Starting your app's computer" or "Updating the preview".

The stages arrive as they happen. A dot on the Preview tab shows what your app is doing, so you can follow it from the Code or Tools tab too.

## Publish stays in view, simpler project tiles and a better phone layout

Released October 17, 2026 · Improved · Publishing, Preview

The Publish button is always visible, project tiles are simpler, phones get a floating bar to switch between chat and preview, and new projects open on a quiet starter page.

- Publish is blue with a globe and always visible. If you can't publish, it shows locked, with the reason.
- Share has a people icon.
- Project tiles show the picture, the title and who edited last, and the whole tile opens the project.
- On phones, a floating bar switches between chat and preview, and Tools opens as a menu.
- New projects open on a starter page with the WebDIY mark that follows your light or dark theme until WebDIY builds your first page.

## See and manage your app's data and users

Released October 15, 2026 · New · Database, Sign-in

The Database screen lets you browse tables and rows, export CSV and see every schema change. Users & Auth shows the people who signed up to your app.

**Database** (Tools, Data):

- Overview: the database's status and usage.
- Tables: browse rows 25 at a time, filter and sort, open a row, and Copy as JSON.
- Export CSV, for Builders and Admins.
- Changes: every migration WebDIY applied.
- Delete database, after you type its name.

**Users & Auth:** see how many people signed up to your app, search them and open a person, and check the app's sign-in settings. Project admins can sign a person out everywhere or remove their account.

Email addresses stay masked until someone selects Show emails, which is recorded in the audit log.

## Keys & secrets, and a security report for each project

Released October 15, 2026 · New · Security

Keep your app's keys as secrets or public values, with every reveal recorded. Each project's Security report shows what was checked and can move keys out of a local .env file.

**Keys & secrets** (Tools, Connect):

- Store a key as a secret, which stays hidden, or as a public value (a name starting with `VITE_`, which the browser can read).
- Up to 100 secrets per project. Every reveal is recorded.
- Secret values reach your app when it runs, and are kept out of chat history, logs and error reports.

**Integrations** lists 12 services, such as Stripe, Resend and Slack, with the key each one needs. Add the key, and WebDIY writes the code that uses it.

**Security** (Tools, Site), for Builders and Admins, shows whether the live release passed the secret check, which values are hidden, local key files, HTTPS for each address, and that the preview runs apart from WebDIY. One action moves keys from a local `.env` file into Keys & secrets.

A grouped sidebar with Home, Projects, Team, Usage, Billing and Settings. Home shows your recent projects and what needs your attention, and deleted projects can be restored for 7 days.

The dashboard has a grouped sidebar: Home, Projects, Team, Usage, Billing and Settings.

- **Projects** has a gallery and a list. Deleting a project offers Undo, and Recently deleted brings it back within 7 days, as long as your organization is under its project limit.
- **Team** shows everyone in your organization and what they can open. Invite people by email (an invite lasts 30 days and can be sent again), change roles, remove people, or leave an organization.

## Server analytics for published sites, and live logs while you build

Released October 15, 2026 · New · Publishing

Analytics shows your published site's requests, errors, server time and hosting credits by day. Logs shows your app's output live while you build, with a button to restart the app.

**Analytics** (Tools, Site) shows your published site's requests and errors, server and CPU time, and hosting credits, by day. Figures arrive about 3 hours behind, and days that Cloudflare sampled read "about". Analytics doesn't count visitors or page views yet.

**Logs** (Tools, Site), for Builders and Admins, shows your app's output live while it runs in the builder, with history and pause. If your app stops, a card offers to restart it.

## The Tools tab: everything about a project in one place

Released October 15, 2026 · New · Publishing, Domains, Database, Security

Next to Preview and Code, Tools holds Publishing, Domains, Analytics, Logs, Security, Database, Users & Auth, Keys & secrets, Integrations, Members & sharing, History and Settings.

Tools sits next to Preview and Code in every project. It opens on an Overview, and its sections are grouped:

- **Site:** Publishing, with release history, Domains, Analytics, Logs and Security.
- **Data:** Database and Users & Auth.
- **Connect:** Keys & secrets and Integrations.
- **Project:** Members & sharing, History and Settings.

On phones, Tools opens as a menu. Storage, Environments, Email and Project knowledge are listed and marked Planned; they have nothing in them yet.

**Usage** shows every credit in and out, with a chart, credits per message and per person, and use by project. Export it as CSV, up to 92 days back.

## The person who creates a project is its Admin

Released October 15, 2026 · Improved · Teams

Whoever creates a project can now publish it, connect domains and manage it. The organization's Owner and Admins keep full control of every project.

Each project has three levels: Admin, Builder and Viewer. Only a project's Admins publish, connect domains, make preview links, delete the project and change its Keys & secrets.

Before, a Builder who created a project couldn't publish it. Now the person who creates a project is its Admin. The organization's Owner and Admins can still do everything in every project.

## Faster previews, and sign-in that goes where you meant

Released October 15, 2026 · Improved · Preview, Account

The Preview updates without a full reload where it can, reopening a project skips unchanged packages, and signing in takes you where you were going.

- Changes appear in the Preview without a full reload where your app supports it, and keep your place in the app.
- Reopening a project no longer reinstalls packages that didn't change.
- Signing in takes you straight to where you were going.

## New projects start on a faster template with 4 GB of memory

Released October 15, 2026 · Improved · Preview

New projects run on Vite 8, and the computer each one runs on has 4 GB of memory.

Every project starts from one template: a Vite and React app in TypeScript. New projects now use Vite 8, and the computer each one runs on has 4 GB of memory, so larger apps have room to build and run. Changes reach the Preview in place.

## Version history, with rewind

Released October 15, 2026 · Improved · Agent

History lists every saved version of a project, who asked for it and which one is live, and can rewind the project to any of them.

History (Tools, Project) lists the versions of your project that WebDIY saved, who asked for each, and which one is live.

You can rewind to any version. A rewind:

- deletes the later versions and their messages from the chat;
- rebuilds the project's files as they were;
- can't be undone;
- doesn't change your database or your published site.

Download Code and Export Chat are now in the project's Settings.

- The web.diy homepage has pricing, answers to common questions and a demo shop you can click through.

Released October 11, 2026 · Improved · Models

## WebDIY lives at one address: web.diy

Released October 3, 2026 · Improved · Account, Security

The site and the app are both on web.diy. The old build.web.diy address redirects to the same page on web.diy.

The WebDIY site and the app now share one address, web.diy. Links and bookmarks to build.web.diy keep working: each one redirects to the same page on web.diy.

Your previews and published apps stay on website.diy, a separate domain. That keeps your app's code away from your WebDIY sign-in.

## Your first message starts a conversation

Released September 24, 2026 · Improved · Agent

WebDIY now talks your idea through before it builds. It asks what you want, sometimes with a short form, and then builds. The workbench opens by default.

When you start a project, WebDIY no longer jumps straight into building. It asks about your idea first: who the app is for, what it should do, how it should look. Sometimes it shows a short form with choices, and you can answer there or in the chat.

## The Publish button shows what's happening, and domains get a DNS checklist

Released August 19, 2026 · Improved · Publishing, Domains

Publish shows a spinner while it builds and a badge when you have unpublished changes or a domain needs attention. Domains checks each DNS record one by one, and you choose the primary address.

**Publish** now shows its state at a glance: a spinner while your site builds, and a badge when you have changes that aren't published or a domain needs attention.

**Domains** checks each DNS record on its own and shows what it found next to it, so you can see which record is missing. When a project has more than one address, you choose which one is primary, and the others redirect to it.

## Connect a domain you own to your published app

Released August 18, 2026 · New · Domains, Publishing · Pro and Max

Serve your published app at your own domain, a root domain with its www or a subdomain, with HTTPS set up for you. Pro includes 5 custom domains per organization and Max 50.

Until now, a published app lived only at its website.diy address. Now a project Admin can connect a domain they own, and WebDIY sets up HTTPS for it.

**What you can connect**

- A root domain, like zenclub.com. WebDIY connects it together with www\.zenclub.com, and one redirects to the other.
- A subdomain, like shop.emberandslip.co, on its own.

**How it works**

1. In your project, open Domains and add the domain.
2. Add the DNS records WebDIY shows where you manage the domain. A root domain needs an A record for `@` pointing to `8.233.131.68` and a CNAME record for `www`. A subdomain needs a CNAME record. Both need a `_webdiy` TXT record, which proves you own the domain.
3. When WebDIY finds the records, it verifies ownership, sets up an HTTPS certificate, and your app serves at the new address.

**Plans.** Custom domains are on Pro and Max: 5 per organization on Pro and 50 on Max, shared by every project in the organization. A root domain and its www count as one. Your website.diy address keeps working.

**Moving a domain.** If the domain is connected to another project, verifying it in the new project moves it there, and the old project stops serving at it.

## Credits replace message limits

Released July 26, 2026 · New · Billing · Free and Pro

Plans now come with credits instead of a cap on messages. Free gets 50 credits a day and Pro 2,000 a month, then 50 a day once those run low.

Plans used to limit how many messages you could send. Now each plan grants credits, and one balance per organization pays for building, running and hosting.

- **Free:** 50 credits a day.
- **Pro:** 2,000 credits a month, then 50 a day once they run low, so a paid plan always has some credits each day.

Messages on lighter models use fewer credits, and a short change uses fewer than a first build.

Released July 23, 2026 · New · Database, Sign-in

Add a managed Postgres database to a project from the chat. Your app's users can sign up and log in, and WebDIY creates the tables through saved migrations.

When your app needs to store data, WebDIY offers "Add a database" in the chat. A project admin accepts, and the project gets a managed Postgres database, with sign-up and login for your app's own users. There are no keys to manage.

WebDIY creates and changes tables through migrations, saved as files you can see. It only adds to the structure: new tables, columns and policies.
